Genital Warts Can Be Transmitted by Hands Also By Karl Dorads

Karl Dorads

Genital Warts are the most common sexually transmitted infection. It is caused by a virus called the Human Papilloma Virus also called HPV. The virus is highly contagious and can be transmitted by sexual contact. Due to its nature, the virus can also be transmitted by unclean hands. This makes you very vulnerable to the infection if you have sexual contact with people in the high risk category.

You have a higher risk of contracting genital warts , if you have sexual relations with a person's whose sexual history you don't know. The risk is also higher if you do not know whether the person has had a sexually transmitted disease or if your partner is also unaware of the same. Another risk factor is having multiple sexual partners. Becoming sexually active at a younger age also increases the risk of contracting genital warts significantly.

Genital warts may not even have symptoms. After sexual contact with an infected person, the condition takes around 3 months to start showing symptoms. The infection may remain dormant for a long time, flaring up only during conditions like pregnancy. You must get yourself tested if you have any of the risk factors mentioned above or if your sexual partner has been diagnosed with the infection.

Symptoms of genital warts usually include warts in the genital area. These may be fleshy masses or grey colored bumps. if transmission occurs by hands the warts may be present in the areas surrounding the genitals as well. they may also be present on the mouth and in the throat. The warts are usually seen on the tip and shaft of the penis in males. They might extend to the scrotum and the anus also. In females, the warts are seen on the external genitalia, in the vagina and the area between the vulva and anus.

The warts are usually accompanied by itching and irritation of the moist genital skin. They may also bleed during sexual intercourse due to erosion of the wart tissue. If you are pregnant , you must get checked for genital warts as this may have an adverse effect on your baby. The warts can be treated but not completely cured. this is because the virus which causes the warts infects the upper layers of the genital skin and it is hard to eliminate the virus from there.

The treatment for genital warts must be done under the guidance of a qualified medical practitioner only. Do not attempt to use over the counter medication which can lead to more irritation of the sensitive genital areas. You can use locally active creams for this purpose. the creams have to be applied to the warts and will make the warts slough off leaving healing skin in its place. The use of such creams needs some precautions and you must consult your health care provider for the treatment that is best for you.

In case you are pregnant, or have large, stubborn warts which do not respond to treatment, you might be advised to go in for surgery. there are many surgical options for genital warts. These include cryotherapy, surgical excision and laser surgery.

Apo E Gene Testing and You By Pamela McDonald

Pamela McDonald

A large percentage of heart disease is known to be genetic. So, as experience with patients has also shown me, even more important than looking beyond total cholesterol levels is testing for the number one gene that affects cholesterol and heart disease — Apo E.

Most people are still not sure how they feel about genetic testing or what to do with genetic testing results if they have been tested. Because it is such a new technology, most people have never discussed a genetic test with a medical provider, let alone had one performed. Yet if you have had a baby born into your family in the past few years, chances are the baby has had a genetic test for phenylketonuria (PKU). The routine genetic testing of newborns can identify genetic disorders that must be treated early in life and is the most widespread use of genetic testing. All 50 states have passed laws requiring that newborns be tested for PKU because if it is not identified and treated very early with dietary restrictions, it causes mental retardation.

While the medical industry is in its infancy with respect to genetic testing and handling the results of that testing, we know enough to say that proper genetic testing can provide you with some important information that can help you determine how to best protect or improve your health. This does not mean that everyone should be gene tested. Gene testing has some involved, complicated medical and ethical issues associated with it. I won't get into the debate about genetic testing from a philosophical standpoint, but rather, share with you certain conditions under which you may — or may not — want to consider genetic testing. Your decision about whether or not to take the Apo E genotype test should be made with the help of a practitioner, ideally the one who will then order the test for you if you decide in favor. I will offer guidelines below to help you and your practitioner in making the right decision for you.

Drawbacks of Testing

The decision to get tested for the Apo E gene is not easy, and one of the main reasons is because your health insurance company and your employer could find out that you have an above average risk of developing Alzheimer disease or cardiovascular disease. Besides their knowing, you might rather not know that unless you make major changes to how you live your life, you have a 90 percent chance of developing Alzheimer disease. If you are considering the test because your family has a history of Alzheimer disease, or you have very high cholesterol, you should talk with a medical provider who has experience performing these tests and can help keep your test results confidential.

The Apo E test, along with an advanced cholesterol test, can give you clear nutritional direction and guidance. The question then becomes whether you need an Apo E test, or just advanced cholesterol testing. Personally, I think it depends on what you want, need, and are willing to do. I do not recommend that testing be done just to find your risk of contracting Alzheimer disease. Rather, the decision to be tested should be based on your desire to obtain the information necessary for proper nutritional guidance and assistance in preventing chronic illness.

Reasons for Doing Genetic Testing

Indications and warning signs that may be a reason for genetic testing are a personal history of:

• severe cardiovascular disease
• Alzheimer disease
• Parkinson disease
• severe neurological disease
• gout
• alcoholism
• high triglycerides and/or LDL
• insulin resistance or diabetes
• substance abuse
• morbid obesity
• depression/anxiety disorder or other mood disorders
• confirmation of a high cholesterol disorder potentially being affected by the Apo E gene
• confirmation of a diagnosis of late onset Alzheimer disease in a symptomatic adult or to reduce risk with dietary prescription
• assistance with treatment of multiple sclerosis by dietary prescription
• assistance with treatment of Parkinson disease by dietary prescription

At the same time, if you have one of the following chronic illnesses or conditions and you are not getting better with your current care plan, you may want to consider getting an Apo E test to help improve your dietary patterns. Here are just a few conditions that I have seen find exceptional success with dietary change related to an Apo E genotype:

• acne
• arthritis
• gout
• diabetes
• depression
• alcoholism
• chronic pain
• ADD and ADHD
• high cholesterol
• cardiovascular disease
• hypertension
• Parkinson disease
• multiple sclerosis
• severe peri-menopausal symptoms
• anxiety
• chronic obesity
• fibromyalgia
• insulin resistance
• insomnia
• menopausal symptoms
• glucose intolerance

I strongly recommend that you find a medical provider who has been trained in the advancing field of genetic heart disease and in integrative nutritional medicine to support you.

Consider Prostate As The Male G-Spot By Paulo Rogers

Paulo Rogers

The healing is ALWAYS done by nature and fresh healthy blood. But, even if the blood is healthy, when it can not reach the prostate gland in sufficient quantity, the prostate can and will from a variety of diseases. The prostate gland is responsible for producing a large percentage of a man's ejaculate, and it is healthy and desirable to fully drain this fluid regularly.

Prostate massage is a healthy and pleasurable activity that can be enjoyed as part of your intimate life. A 10-20 minute prostate massage at least once a month, and as often as once a day, is important for a healthy gland. The whole purpose of this external prostate massage is to bring some new fresh circulation to the area and keep it fresh and healthy.

Today, it is fast becoming widely recommended, as prostate massage has been discovered to complement and enhance the effectiveness of antimicrobial, antibiotic and herbal remedies by facilitating prostate gland circulation. Prostate massage is considered a healthy activity for all men who are not experiencing severe symptoms of a prostate condition and is once again becoming more widely recommended as researchers discover that prostate massage complements and increases the effectiveness of antibiotics, antimicrobials or herbal remedies by facilitating circulation to the prostate gland.

It is often recommended as an alternative form of sexual interaction when a person's partner is unavailable or he simply does not want to participate in other sexual intercourse activities. However, there are instances when prostate massage is not recommended for those who have acute prostatitis, as it can promote the spread of infection to other parts of the body. Prostate massage is not recommended for men with prostate cancer, as you can cause the cancer to metastasize, or for men with a prostate infection, since the infection can spread.

Prostate massage is the massage or stimulation of the prostate gland in males for medical purposes. A prostate massage is a good way to drain the prostate. A prostate massage is known to give some positive results in treatment of prostatits as a stand alone procedure or in conjunction with prostate medicines like antibiotics. A prostate massage is a great way to experience new sensations and this highly erotic massage technique will allow you to explore the power of your sensuality to the full.

A prostate massage is performed by massaging the prostate and can be accomplished in more than one way. The most common way in which a prostate massage is performed is by direct contact through the anus. The purpose of a prostate massage is to excrete fluid from the inflamed prostate, which is believed to relieve the prostate infection and inflammation. The only reasons that speaks against a self prostate massage is a possible infection. Latex medical gloves are also recommended as a guard against bacteria introduction.

Author Plato Rosinke says young men as well as old are suffering from prostate problems. Prostate massage is good to prevent prostate problems such as prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia. It is also good for relieving the symptoms of prostate problems of BPH. If caught early enough, additional problems are preventable; it is common to have an enlarged prostate before experiencing symptoms. Sometimes the massage may take longer because the object is to free the gland of congestion {that may lead to prostate problems such as blockage which can lead to prostatitis, cancer and other problems including sexual dysfunction}.

How to Boost Metabolism - Diet and Its Effect on Metabolism By John Michelin

John Michelin

Metabolic rate is different from individual to individual and is based on a number of aspects such as age of the person, sex, body composition, hereditary factors and a number of other factors both extrinsic and intrinsic. Anyone can maintain their metabolic rate healthy and good if the right balanced diet and regular exercise programs are followed.

To know more about metabolism one needs to know how the way in which the body utilizes and preserves energy. Energy is derived from the various food sources we consume. Foods have proteins, carbohydrates and fats in different levels and these are used by the body cells to create and store energy to perform various functions of the body. So, different food substances are required to maintain the metabolism at a healthy rate, but the proportion in which each one is consumed is still a matter of controversy.

As the diet is a vital factor for maintaining a healthy metabolic rate, even the timing of consumption of the food and the amount of food intake plays a role in regulating the metabolism. So, in order to preserve a healthy and good metabolic rate, everyone should not only eat a appropriate balanced diet they should also eat the proper quantity of food following a correct timetable.

For example, if you are following a good exercise program but are still putting on weight, you need to regulate your diet much better. Have a look at your daily calorie intake. Many people make the mistake of either starving or following unregulated crash diets that will not help in anyway to lose the weight but will cause malnutrition.

It is advisable to follow a diet that gives you not less than 1200 calories in a day as this amount of food intake is essential to maintain a healthy metabolism. But, care must be exercised to eat only nourishing and healthy foods to get the required calorie levels.

The pyramid diet chart is a good guide to help you with your diet. This has been advised successfully by the USDA as it satisfies the dietary requirements of an American. For more information about this diet plan, you can conduct an online search over Google and type in the keywords “Pyramid Diet”.

If a person wants to lose weight only developing a regular exercise program will not help. This has to be combined with the right diet plan to achieve the much loved result. Regulating the diet chart can be done in a much more professional way if the pyramid diet plan is used to guide you.

A doubt that frequently comes to many a person’s mind when reading up on diet and consulting diet charts is to understand the proportion of a ‘serving’. More information and advice about servings and their proportions can be found by conducting an online search on Google and accessing the National Institutes of Health (1998) and the American Diabetic Association Exchange Lists.

Everyone should follow some important pointers when trying to maintain a healthy metabolic rate by regulating the diet. These include the following:

- Breakfast is very important and should not be skipped.

- It is essential to consume six meals a day with every meal having small proportions.

- Avoid consumption of foods that have a high fat content.

- Eat more greens and lots of fruits.

- Include ample amount of fish in the diet.

- Avoid consumption of processed foods. Increase the intake of fibrous foods.

Maintaining a Healthy Heart By Bardnurz Sham

Bardnurz Sham

The human heart is about the size of a clenched fist. It is located under the breastbone between the lungs (just left of centre) and is made up of four chambers. Blood flows through these chambers in a pattern that supplies all parts of the body with oxygenated blood and returns blood to the lungs for re-oxygenation.

There are two types of blood vessels, arteries and veins. Arteries carry oxygenated blood from the heart and are elastic, which enables them to withstand the pressure of blood being pumped with force.

Veins carry back to the heart. By the time blood reaches the veins, blood pressure has dropped. Veins are not elastic, but have small valves that keep the de-oxygenated blood from flowing backwards.

When kept healthy and strong, the body's network of veins and arteries should work as efficiently in an older body as a younger one.

Take care of your heart.

The body's ingenious design means skin, muscle and a sturdy ribcage protects the heart from injury. The real risk to the health of our heart comes not from injury, but from failing to take proper care of this vital organ.

Happily, maintaining a healthy heart is relatively simple, and it's never too late to start. Do you smoke? If you do, the first step is to quit. Even occasional smoking has been proven to be detrimental to the health of your heart. Regular exercise is essential to help maintain weight and keep the heart strong. It is also important to limit fats in the diet particularly animal fats derived from meat and full fat dairy foods.

Enjoying health to a ripe old age is common in many Mediterranean communities where diet is based on olive oil, vegetables, fish, nuts, fruits, grains and pulses. Many doctors and naturopaths believe that it's the low levels of cholesterol that make the Mediterranean diet an excellent model for those wishing to maintain their cardiovascular health.

Include in your diet:

- Seasonal fresh vegetables, especially leafy greens, broccoli, zucchini, onions, red and white cabbage, cucumber, potatoes, pumpkin and sweet potatoes.

- Fresh fruit, rich in antioxidants.

- Fish, particularly oily varieties such as sardines, mackerel and salmon.

- Fresh herbs, especially parsley, mint, basil, thyme, coriander, oregano and dill.

- Whole grains cereals, brown rice, oats, wholemeal bread and pasta, millet, buckwheat and barley.

- Lean meat, chicken and eggs.

- Nuts and seeds, small amounts of almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds.

- Sea vegetables, nori, arame and wakame.
Soy foods and tofu.

Keep to a minimum:

- Full fat dairy foods.

- Refined white flour products, white bread, pasta, biscuits and cakes.

- Salt.

- Saturated fats, butter, matured cheeses, fatty meats and fried foods.

Exercise:

Exercise is extremely important for the maintenance of a healthy cardiovascular system. In addition to keeping the heart itself strong, exercise helps maintain a healthy weight, which reduce pressure on the heart. You don't need to become gym junkie. A brisk 30 minute walk at least three times a week can make a huge difference to your health.

Supplement with CoQ10:

CoQ10 occurs naturally in the body and levels decline with age. A CoQ10 supplement assists in maintaining a healthy heart, in particularly the function of the heart muscle. CoQ10 has been shown to reduce oxidation of LDL cholesterol.

How to Increase Metabolism - Green Tea and Its Effect on Metabolism By John Michelin

John Michelin

Green tea has emerged as a healthy route to improve the metabolism and also has provided a way to bring about reduction of weight. The constituents of green tea have the ability to maintain a healthy metabolic rate providing the necessary amount of vigor and vitality day after day.

Consuming green tea has helped many a person improve their metabolic rate and maintain a healthy living style. But, certain tips need to be borne in mind while purchasing “green tea” as every brand that is available in the market may not be completely natural in terms of its ingredients.

For this reason, it is best to go with a brand that is renowned and time-tested. Also, it is best to check the constituents before purchasing it. You can even have a look at where the tea is coming from to give an idea about whether the ingredients are totally natural. The ingredients have to be looked at because there are many brands available that claim to be green tea but are actually not.

“Organic green tea” is one such ingredient to look out for. If a brand is organic it will be mentioned so on the packing as many people prefer this ingredient while buying green tea.

One vital point to bear in mind before you rush off to including green tea within your daily schedule is that one ingredient of any green tea is caffeine. If you are one who is very conscious about the amount of caffeine intake daily, then green tea is not your cup of tea. But, one good thing is that the amount of caffeine is significantly lesser in comparison to the amounts found in coffee or in the energy drinks that have now swarmed the markets. There are of late some products that claim to be free of caffeine. So, if you are caffeine conscious, you can try one of these.

Green tea has demonstrated the ability to improve the metabolic rate and improve the oxidation of fats. These two important properties have helped many an individual keep their weight in check and for many to help in losing excess weight. So, green tea is an excellent way to not only improve the metabolic rate but also to perk up the way you look.

Advanced trials have now made it known that along with these properties of green tea, it is also an antioxidant. Antioxidants are a great way to keep your heart healthy and to avoid life threatening conditions like cancer or stroke.

So, green tea is a great way to go to improve metabolism, keep your weight in check and to give your body a regular dose of antioxidants to keep you healthy for a long time to come. Make it a habit to drink a cup or two of green tea starting today. After all, it pays to go the Green way.

Stockport Dentist Guide to Restoring Your Facial Profile By Dr John Mantel

Dr John Mantel

Many patients present the dentist with diverse complaints about a loss of facial height and profile.

Typically “I can’t see my teeth anymore when I smile and I am embarrassed to have my photograph taken”, “I have difficulty chewing my food” or “I don’t like the gaps that have formed between my teeth” to mention but a few. Or they may have acute toothache from an overstressed tooth because of progressive changes in the patients bite over a period of time.

However there is often a common link between all of these signs and symptoms and this article will guide you through a treatment protocol.

The patient is typically in the 45 years plus age group. They may have been habitually unconsciously grinding their teeth for a long time, especially at night or when they are stressed.

Clinical examination usually reveals extensive wear on the tooth surfaces often coupled with a loss of several of the back teeth and thus a forward drift of the lower jaw in order to get contact in chewing or function. The patient may sometimes have pain or discomfort in the hinge joints (Temporomandibular joints) just in front of their ears.

Examining the patient’s facial height usually reveals that the tip of their chin is far too close to the tip of their nose when they close their teeth together. This can give the patient a premature ageing effect. The teeth are often very small showing extensive wear.

To treat these cases successfully the dentist must consider the whole mouth. In the first instance a detailed and comprehensive examination is required. Taking full mouth X-rays and photographs as well as mounted study models or plaster cast.

Following this a diagnostic splint may be made for the patient to wear for a few weeks. This opens the bite up to nearer what it once was and should be worn as often as possible. It is made of clear acrylic and seats neatly over the top or bottom teeth. When the patient is found to be comfortable wearing the splint at the restored vertical height the dentist may then get the dental laboratory to duplicate the study casts and produce a diagnostic wax up of what the finished dentition would look like with all the teeth restored at the new vertical height.

Up until now none of the teeth in the patient’s mouth have had any active treatment from the dentist. Ultimately the detail from the wax up would have to be replicated in the patient’s mouth either by building up the natural teeth by crowning and or filling the gaps with bridges/dental implants or partial dentures.

Before any treatment is commenced the patient should receive a detailed written cost treatment plan from the dentist which they both understand and are happy with.

If any of the for mentioned facial problems concern you then don’t be conscious of your smile or not showing your teeth ….. Consult your dentist and explain your concerns. Your dentist should be able to help you or if not refer you to another practitioner who can.

Frequent Meals and Cutting Sugar Are Keys to Diet Success By Daniel Millions

Daniel Millions

Most people consider the word 'diet' to be taboo. A word that shouldn't be spoken at all, or briefly mentioned and forgotten. However, for any man or woman looking to improve their physical appearance, fitness, or performance, a well-balanced goal focused at a specific goals can greatly improve a body's health and wellness.

Diet isn't about starvation; it's about improving the life you live on a daily basis. In fact, it's possible for you to eat more food than you are now, and still lose wait. Yes, that's correct! Eat more food, yet lose weight. There are several key components that need to be addressed. The main variables are which foods you eat, how much you eat, and what time it's eaten. All three play an important role, so it's necessary that you understand them in order to make improvements to your diet in a safe and efficient manner.

There aren't a whole lot of bodybuilders or supermodels eating cake, candy, or coke, at least during model season. Sugar is the biggest culprit when it comes to controlling weight and body fat. If one of your lunch habits is to drink a bottle or can of soda, it's possible to lose several pounds a year by just replacing the sugary drink with a glass of water.

Treat yourself to good food. Eating healthy food doesn't need to be depriving. The staples of a healthy diet fruit, vegetables, meats, whole grains, and nuts can be as delicious as junk food if you take the time to prepare them creatively. Watch out for foods that are deceiving. Some foods may appear healthy, sound healthy, or boast claims such as 'low fat' or 'lean'. Forget the misconception that fat is the enemy. Recent studies have shown that high-fat diets, around 40% of daily caloric intake, is effective at fat loss. You still need to watch out for trans fat and hydrogenated fats, but sugar is the main culprit to a healthy diet.

How much food you eat is dependent on your personal goal. It's better to eat several 'small' meals, rather than a couple large meals. A general rule of thumb for individuals looking to lose weight is eat whenever you are hungry, but only until you aren't hungry anymore. Don't stuff yourself like you are sitting in front of a Thanksgiving feast, but don't deprive yourself either. Stick with whatever amount keeps your optimism high and gives you results at a healthy pace.

If your goal is to gain weight, it's just as important to be eating every two to four hours. However, the quantity needs to be much greater. Your body may only need 2500 calories now, but if you want to eat like a 250-pound football player, it's necessary that you start eating like one.

One area of nutrition that is often overlooked is the time when foods are eaten. Carbohydrates, especially sugars like fruit and soda, should only be eaten in the morning or immediately after a workout for optimal results. Whenever sugars are sent into the blood stream, insulin is released as well, which puts the body into a 'fat-absorbing' mode. Definitely not what you're after! Fatty and protein-heavy foods can be eaten at almost any time, but once again, sugar should be kept under close control.

Nutrition doesn't have to be complex. Eat every couple hours, eat a moderate portion of protein with every meal, and minimize your sugars. Diet is an intimidating word, but once you find what works best for you personally, the results are extremely rewarding.

Cabbage Soup Diet - The 5 Realities Of This Fad Diet By W. Darren -

W. Darren -

The Cabbage Soup Diet is a fad diet that has caught on for years now. Often called the “Sacred Heart Diet” and the “Military Cabbage Diet”, the Cabbage Soup Diet’s real origin has yet to be determined. No one has verified where the diet came from and if it is designed for any group of people in particular but the fact that the diet is sill around after so many years have shown its potential applicability.

The Cabbage Soup Diet has a detoxifying effect on the dieter as the diet is similar to a fast. However, because of the dangerously low levels of protein and carbohydrates in the soup, this diet is not recommended for everyone. Sandy, who has undergone the diet in the past finds it very effective and she has in fact lost eight pounds in just one week. She said she desperately needed to find a diet that can help her lose the pounds in time for her wedding. Although the diet is effective, it is not easy and the dieter should be aware of the implications before undertaking the diet.

1. It Limits Your Food Intake to Cabbage

You don’t necessarily have to love cabbage but you must have at least tolerance for this green leafy vegetable. It can be very bland and the diet often asks for other ingredients like crushed tomatoes and a celery stalk. On some days, other fruits and vegetables are added to the diet and the dieter is encouraged to eat as much fruits and vegetables available. Some try to add spices to make it more palatable but all in all, cabbage soup can be very boring and tasteless.

2. It Can Cause Other Symptoms During the Diet

The diet can cause irritability and headaches. Some people reported of lack of concentration often associated with hunger. Often, the dieter thinks nothing but of eating and since the cabbage soup is mostly liquid, it cannot fill you up. The diet recommends eating as much of the soup as you can especially if you’re hungry but the monotony of the diet can be trying.

3. The Aftereffects

The Cabbage Soup Diet, being a fad diet can lead to a regain of weight the week after. The diet can leave the dieter feeling very deprived and he or she has the tendency to eat more in the following week. This will lead to a yoyo diet, with the person often resorting to the diet when the need arises.

4. Realistic Weight Loss

The dieter has to be realistic about the amount of weight that is lost. Although there is a considerable amount of weight loss that the dieter will experience, it will most likely be water weight and lean muscle tissue. There is no discernable loss in body fat and the dieter will most likely regain the weight back if he or she doesn’t add an exercise regime to the program.

5. Diet Not for Everyone

The Cabbage Soup Diet is not ideal for anyone. There are some people who can take the diet and follow through but there are also those who need constant affirmation that the diet is worth it. Most importantly, people who are experiencing medical and health problems prior to the diet should ask the advice of their physicians first before undertaking the diet.
